It’s truly bewildering to see a Congressman calling for the deportation of a bishop who advocated mercy for the LGBTQ+ community and immigrants. The bishop, born and a U.S. citizen, is seemingly beyond the grasp of the law as proposed by the Congressman. Meanwhile, Trump’s response is nothing short of laughable, as he not only expressed dissatisfaction with the prayer service but also demanded an apology from the bishop. It seems in Trump’s world, any dissent, even from a religious figure, is met with suppression.
