The C.I.A. has once again found a new darling in the lab leak theory. It’s truly eye-catching. However, since the old theory has been ‘chewed’ for several months, the new theory naturally takes the stage. But, there seems to be little ‘new’ intelligence behind this new assessment, which is quite puzzling. Is it to shift public attention? Besides, the issue of the Chinese government’s lack of regulation is, no matter how much discussion, seems to have become an old tune.
