The swift shutdown of the Spanish-language version of the White House website by the new administration echoes the rapid ‘retirement’ of certain policies. However, the government spokesperson merely casually mentioned that the website is still in development and some content is temporarily ‘dormant.’ This cannot help but raise doubts about whether certain groups are only considered ‘dormant’ audiences in the eyes of the White House. Moreover, for those Latino voters who expressed their support in the presidential election using Spanish, this move is undoubtedly a讽刺.
