At least, that’s what the Reuters report on the global EV January sales suggests. Yet, can this trend sustain? For the first time since February 2024, U.S. and European EV sales surpassed China’s, with the U.S. and Canada seeing a 22.1-percent increase and Europe a 21-percent surge. These numbers might be music to the ears, but the underlying trend of slowing growth in three consecutive months is a cautionary note. And with incentive programs like the $5,000 EV incentive in Quebec paused and the fate of the federal $7,500 tax credit uncertain, the future of EVs seems less certain.
