A car so groundbreaking it could’ve been the first to start a safety revolution, but alas, it was the Corvair’s turn to play the villain. As for the Pontiac LeMans Sprint, it was like GM had a chance to be Japan with its 2JZ, but nope, they just decided to go with the tried and true V8s. And now, we’re left to ponder a world where American muscle cars could’ve been the Europeans’ worst nightmare. What if GM had been as daring as a Hollywood scriptwriter? Who knows, maybe they could’ve even named the car ‘DeLorean Sprint,’ complete with a time-traveling feature for those looking to relive the 60s in the 21st century.
