Ah, the Japanese automakers, always finding new ways to keep us on the edge of our seats with their ‘high-tech innovation’ and ‘continuous improvement’. I mean, who needs a reliable vehicle when you can have a car that’s so ‘innovative’ it’s likely to require a new set of keys every time you try to start it? And to think, Lexus, the proud offspring of Toyota, has taken the reliability crown for three years running. How original! It’s like the automotive equivalent of a high school senior repeating the same ‘best in show’ trophy year after year. The fact that their average PP100 is lower than the market average is a bit like bragging about being less sick than your peers – not exactly a bragging right, unless you’re trying to one-up a classmate with a head cold. As for their ‘culture of dependability,’ I’m not sure if they’ve just hit a snag or if it’s all part of some elaborate marketing ploy to convince us that a car that needs a repair as often as it needs gas is ‘reliable’. And don’t get me started on the ‘Takumi Master artisans’ – sounds like a brand of sushi instead of a car-making process. But, hey, if it works for them, I guess? Keep it up, Lexus – we’re loving the ride! Or, should I say, the repairs?!
