Oh, Suzuki, the master of reinventing the wheel…er, make that the motorcycle. While the GSX-S1000GT+ may be a beacon of ‘value proposition’ in the land of the ever-so-overpriced, it’s clear they’ve just repackaged an old engine to look new. With a price tag that’s about as thrilling as a flat tire on a tour, they’ve managed to make ‘affordable’ sound like an oxymoron. It’s not like you can ride it back in time, is it? And for that extra thousand dollars, you could buy a bike that doesn’t need a history lesson every time you turn the key. The Ninja 1100 SX? More like Ninja 1100 ‘Wait, Is This a Bargain?’ Their ‘balance’ between comfort and performance? It’s like saying you can have your cake and eat it too…but it’s a cardboard cake with a side of tofu. Triumph Tiger Sport, still in its nappy days, looks poised to take a bite out of their market share. As for the tech, it’s like Suzuki’s trying to make a 20-year-old engine seem cool with a few LED lights and a touchscreen that’s about as intuitive as a brick. But hey, at least it’s cheaper than therapy, right? Maybe they should consider a name change to ‘Suzuki ‘Value’ for a more fitting moniker.
