I would settle for subtle updates to their public relations department. ‘New tech features’? Let’s hope it’s not just a new app for counting the days until the next recall. And Ford’s EcoBoost? It’s like a rollercoaster ride without the fun part. Rivian, while they may be ‘cool’, they still only have two models. How does that measure up against Tesla’s hundred-plus car family? And the EV naming game? I’d rather they just call them ‘Battery-Driven Bricks’ for short. The market is full of ‘budget’ EVs that are less about savings and more about patience. Compact SUVs? They’ve downsized everything but the price tag. And what’s with VW dropping the Golf? The new Taos might be a ‘crossover’, but it’s not a replacement for the real deal. I guess in the world of cars, everything old is ‘old’ again, except for the price – that’s still sky-high.
