Mitsubishi Dealers Upset About Not Selling Enough Vehicles

Mitsubishi is having a delightful ride in the US market, isn’t it? With a 25.8% sales surge, they’ve certainly managed to make the other automakers’ sales charts look like a sloping hillside. But oh, the dealers, they’re as grumpy as a cat with a hairball – they’ve got a ‘low delivery volume’ problem. I guess they’re just not quite ready for the ‘Outlander’ express to full profitability. At 17 cars a month, they’re selling less than a small town’s inventory in a year. But hey, who needs to move 30 models when 17 will do just fine? I mean, it’s not like customers are lining up for their cars, right? And poor Mitsubishi North America CEO Mark Chaffin, he’s trying so hard to support his dealers, but I suspect his support is about as useful as a paperweight. ‘We’re in a gunfight with butter knives,’ indeed. Against the likes of Mazda, Hyundai, and Kia? They must be having a real hoot, watching Mitsubishi try to juggle their limited offerings like a circus clown.
