On January 16, 1968, a group was founded in New York City, known as the ‘Youth International Party’ or ‘Yippies.’ This group, led by counterculture figures such as Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, and Paul Krassner, aimed to blend radical political activism with the rebellious spirit of the 1960s counterculture.
