What a delightful walk down the memory lane of the motorcycle industry! It’s quite amusing how Harley-Davidson was ‘protected’ by President Reagan’s tariffs, a move that seems to have been a bit of a ‘win-win’ for them, if you know what I mean. Talk about some ‘heavy’ competition! And let’s not forget Suzuki’s ‘conservative’ contribution with the XN85 – must’ve been a real game-changer for the turbo-charged motorcycle world, right? The GSX-R series – oh, how it ‘saw the light of day,’ a phrase I’m sure has never been more fitting. It’s like Suzuki was on a ‘philosophy tour’ with that 1984 GSX-R400, leading the charge in sports bike thinking. But, I must say, the ‘millennial’ GSX-R750, with its ‘near-perfect mix’ of 600’s lightness and 750’s torque – that’s some serious ‘incremental improvement’ right there! Suzuki’s commitment to ‘no big redesigns’ since 2011 – a ‘legend’ that’s been left behind by the times, if you ask me!
