However, according to many traditional measures, the America he will inherit from President Biden, when he takes the oath for a second time in two weeks, is actually in better shape than any newly elected president has received since George W. Bush came into office in 2001. It seems that the President-elect might be overlooking a fact that his nation was not in the dire straits he described upon his departure. Perhaps his remarks should be viewed as a form of strategic self-comfort rather than an accurate depiction of the actual situation.
