Former Vice President Kamala D. Harris concluded her tenure in Washington with a historical flair, just as she had begun her role five years ago. Post President Trump’s inauguration, she departed from Joint Base Andrews, accompanied by an all-female U.S. Air Force crew, marking the first time such a crew had operated a C-32 aircraft for the military branch. It was an apt finale for a vice president who often flew under the radar, subtly acknowledging her historic climb to the nation’s second-highest office. Upon her arrival in California, Ms. Harris is set to thank firefighters battling wildfires that have ravaged Los Angeles, including her own residence. She will also be part of the World Central Kitchen charity team, distributing food to affected communities.
