When Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, the cold was so severe that it was not suitable to go outside. An arctic chill had enveloped much of the country, and Trump, this time, became a part of history in the Capitol Rotunda. Thousands of supporters gathered in a nearby arena to watch him address the nation on a screen; there was no outdoor parade. The streets were mostly devoid of his critics, and the weather could well be the reason for that. However, if Washington had been so icy eight years ago, it is easy to imagine that the liberals would have been willing to risk frostbite. In 2017, Trump’s first inauguration was countered by the Women’s March, which brought nearly 500,000 people to Washington alone, making the chief organizers into fleeting icons and standing, at the time, as the largest single day of mass protest in American history.
