In 2025, the year of the snake has indeed lived up to its name, especially after the reversal of a certain TikTok ‘ban.’ Looking back to 2020, President Donald Trump proposed the ban, claiming that China, where the app’s parent company is headquartered, ‘mishandled’ the COVID-19. However, the ban was not implemented, only raising concerns about national security and data safety within the government.
