Amidst the COVID zenith, photographer and activist Corky Lee passed away, his legacy encapsulated in a recent book, ‘Corky Lee’s Asian America: Fifty Years of Photographic Justice.’ His brother, John Lee, fondly remembers him as a self-taught photojournalist who chronicled the lives of America’s Asian communities. Corky, he says, was the ‘undisputed, unofficial Asian American photographer laureate’ with a mission to educate through each photograph. His passion and dedication to ‘photographic justice’ are a testament to the enduring spirit of justice and advocacy.
