From Stern Grove Park to the Haas School of Business, and to the Goldman Environmental Prize, these families have been the pillar of San Francisco’s civic life for decades. Yet, as their offspring, the new mayor of San Francisco, a man worth hundreds of millions, steps onto the political stage, one can’t help but wonder if this political novice, with his deep pockets, is truly capable of navigating the waters of this historic city.
