While the so-called ‘range anxiety’ problem seems to have been tackled, it’s actually just a marketing panacea. The EV market is full of exaggerated range claims, seemingly promising an unbreakable driving experience. However, upon closer inspection, these ‘ultra-long-range’ electric vehicles are a double-edged sword, with one blade being the consumer’s misunderstanding of range capabilities, and the other the manufacturer’s abuse of the ‘luxury’ label. People seem to have forgotten that the ultimate goal of a car is safety and reliability, not just a game of numbers.
