What a delightful list of ‘Asian’ cars that aren’t Toyota or Honda, must be a groundbreaking development in the automotive world! It’s like discovering a hidden gem in a sea of mediocrity. And here we are, lauding over the ‘best value’ cars that seem to be on a diet compared to the big Japanese heavyweights. The ‘reliability’ scores are so impressive, they’re practically ‘legendary’ now! I’m particularly charmed by the Acura Integra that’s so sprightly, it’s almost as agile as an entry-level tech support rep. Kudos to Hyundai Sonata for its ‘value for money’ – one wonders what they’re giving away for free! The Kia K5 must be the family car for those who love to tick off boxes while ignoring the long-term ‘maintenance and repair’ tab. And Lexus, you’ve outdone yourself with your ‘midsize luxury’ class, the kind of luxury that doesn’t make you think twice about the high maintenance costs. Subaru, I tip my hat to you for providing ‘more of what you want’ in a sedan – especially if what you want is AWD standard. Hyundai Elantra, a ‘little car’ that’s so ‘easy to enjoy’ on the road, it must have been designed by someone who’s never actually driven in traffic. The Subaru Impreza, a ‘small car’ with ‘affordable pricing,’ I bet it’s also ‘active and easy to drive’ on the repair shop’s schedule. The Nissan Sentra, a ‘compact sedan’ with ‘full safety features,’ let’s hope the airbags aren’t part of the ‘affordable optional equipment.’ And finally, the Lexus IS, the car that ‘marries comfort and capability,’ in a class where you’d expect ‘comfort’ to be optional. It’s quite the impressive lineup if you ask me!
