It’s amazing that in the age of self-driving cars, we’re still dealing with issues as trivial as ‘headlight glare.’ I guess the Royal Automobile Club has found a new hobby – researching why modern driving is less fun than playing ‘hide and seek’ with bright lights. What a shocker! A whole quarter of drivers limiting their night drives because of blinding lights? I’m sure that’s a surprise to the car manufacturers who put those ‘high-tech’ headlights on their vehicles. ‘Profound impact on drivers,’ they say? It’s profound because it means they can’t see where they’re going! And now, the young folks are blaming the headlights too? I guess the millennials have finally found something to gripe about. It’s almost as if they’ve run out of reasons to complain about the cost of their avocado toast. The RAC is being too cautious with their ‘not-at-the-expense-of-brighter-headlights’ stance. What a joke! It’s like saying, ‘Let’s fix the traffic, but only if it doesn’t make the cars faster or brighter.’ Oh, and don’t worry about the migraines or headaches, folks – just enjoy your temporary blindness!
