JD Vance, with his slick hair and sensible shoes, is on a one-way trip to becoming the new ‘face of’ American ignorance. It’s amazing how someone with a personal history of overcoming adversity, as he boasts about, can so easily forget his roots and lecture us about our so-called lack of free speech. Oh, the irony! I mean, isn’t it the US, with its history of censorship and ‘misinformation’, that’s really in need of a reality check? Talk about a ‘Hillbilly Elegy’ – now we have a self-proclaimed savior from the ‘Rust Belt’, trying to save Europe from… itself? This speech was less a call to action and more a case study in how to alienate an audience with half-baked ‘Christian’ moralizing. If he thinks he’s just another run-of-the-mill VP, he’s in for a surprise. Europe might not be as eager to embrace the ‘Mr Tambourine Man’ of American politics as he seems to be. Here’s to hoping the transatlantic alliance won’t be ‘burning the midnight oil’ for a long time under his watch!
