What a hilarious coincidence! ‘An American in Paris’ is so thrilled that ‘La La Land’ has rekindled the spark for Hollywood musicals, they’ve even managed to copy their movie poster design, minus the originality, of course. It’s like they’re saying, ‘Hey, we can’t create anything new, so let’s just borrow a little starlight from your starry backdrop, shall we?’ And director Christopher Wheeldon? Oh, the gall! Claiming ‘dibs’ on an image that wasn’t even his first. I mean, really, did he think we wouldn’t see through that ‘first to the image’ claim? The Gershwins would be rolling in their graves if they knew their timeless tunes were now just another backdrop for a rehashed concept. It’s high time we started calling this ‘An American in Paris, with a side of ‘La La Land’ plagiarism’. Critics might be praising the show, but let’s be real, it’s just another shiny production in the world of recycled dreams.
