Oh, look, the Bentley Bentayga has finally outdone itself by offering a ‘limited-production Atelier Edition’ that is ‘the most unique of the facelifted Bentaygas yet.’ I guess they’re running out of new ways to convince us that a $203,000 SUV is a necessity. With five ‘custom and bespoke exterior colors’ and ‘a range of unique exterior and interior appointments,’ they’ve certainly left no stone unturned in the luxury department. It’s almost as if Bentley’s Mulliner division has decided that the only way to make their cars more ‘unique’ is to turn them into rolling art installations. And what a ‘contemporary luxury aesthetic’ they’ve managed to capture with these ‘special color combinations’ – I’m sure the ‘Light Emerald’ will be a hit on the red carpet. The only thing that’s ‘standardization’ here is the price tag, which doesn’t seem to be affected by the ‘individualization’ process. Bravo, Bentley, for reminding us that there are some things in life that money can’t buy, like common sense.
