What a farce! The Lexus LFA, with its V-10 engine, must have been a real hit in the ‘sound of silence’ category. At $686,000, I’m guessing the only people lining up for it are those who’ve never heard of depreciation. And now, this new LFR? I guess Toyota is hoping that a twin-turbocharged V8 will somehow make up for the LFA’s lackluster performance. But come on, 900 horsepower? This is like trying to win a race with a sprinter who’s already been running a marathon. As for the ‘hardcore’ and ‘docile’ versions, it sounds like Toyota is trying to cater to those who can’t decide between a sports car and a sofa. And let’s not forget, Toyota only made 500 LFAs, so I’m sure the LFR will be just as rare as a unicorn with a blue tail. At $210,314, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s as popular as a new gym membership on New Year’s Day.
