The GOP’s budget committee chair, Rep. Arrington, must be practicing his tightrope walk, because balancing the budget on a string seems like child’s play compared to this. And kudos to Rep. Massie, the lone maverick who didn’t buy the illusion. As for the ‘America First’ agenda? It’s more like ‘America Last’ when it comes to funding for our citizens. The Dems are right: how do these Republicans face their constituents after such a vote? It’s like the GOP has adopted the ‘no plan B’ mantra for political theater, and President Trump is the director, calling holdouts like a maestro. The Senate’s ‘slim GOP margin’ sounds like a house of cards waiting for a breeze, but then again, isn’t the whole budget just a breeze through the pocketbooks of the middle class?
