Oh, look at the American hybrid market, all bloated and proud like a turkey on Thanksgiving! Consumers are now so enlightened that they’re choosing these ‘green’ vehicles, which is quite a leap from the days when gas was ‘cheap’ and ICEs were king. And let’s not forget the ‘tax incentives’ – a thinly veiled way for the government to try and save face after not doing anything about climate change. The Toyota Corolla hybrid? That’s the new benchmark of efficiency, isn’t it? I’m sure all those $2,000 savings over five years will make up for the $2,000 more it cost in the first place. And who could forget the ‘specialized battery components’? It’s like they’re trying to justify the astronomical costs of replacement by making it sound necessary. I guess when you’re in the market for a new HEV, just remember: ‘Buy now, pay later – in more ways than one!’
