What a spectacle! Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is like a peacock with its feathers ruffled, crying about freedom of expression when their own court is effectively putting a censorship spell on Rumble. It’s a two-way street, indeed, but Brazil seems to have forgotten its own constitutional republican principles of power independence, choosing instead to distort the meaning of ‘freedom of expression’ to mean ‘freedom to break the law’. Meanwhile, the US is playing a tough-love game, reminding Brazil that in the global village, everyone’s a neighbor, and neighbors must respect each other’s privacy even if Brazil can’t respect its own constitution.
