Ah, Mini, the little car with a big, front-drive heart that now decides to take a 180-degree U-turn towards the dark side of rear-wheel drive. I guess they’re trying to inject some ‘motoring fun’ by the force of physics, but what about the ‘Mininess’? Will it still be ‘a hoot to toss around’? I can just imagine these Mini EVs now, struggling to not oversteer while trying to keep up with the latest tech ‘quantum leap’. I wonder if they’ll still have that iconic transversely mounted engine, now awkwardly positioned on the back, like a donkey’s saddle. And what of the ‘engaging dynamics and driving fun’? I bet they’ll need a new set of wheels just to balance out that torque steer! But hey, let’s not forget, Mini’s new architecture will support all-wheel drive and four drive motors – sounds like a car with more motors than a Christmas tree! Only time will tell if Mini can turn this into a ‘technological quantum leap’ or if it’ll be a case of ‘Mini-mizing fun’!
