Well, it seems the automotive world has been hit with another round of ‘innovation’ where the only real difference between the Corolla and Corolla Cross Hybrid seems to be the height of the ride and the sticker price. It’s like Toyota’s designers took the Corolla, looked at the crossover trend, and said, ‘let’s just stack more seats on top of the Corolla without changing much else.’ They even keep the same engine, which, for the uninitiated, means the ‘hybrid’ part is a bit of a misnomer. At least they’re not trying to ‘innovate’ with a new acronym or buzzword, just more of the same, albeit a bit higher off the ground. Who knew that all it took to become ‘all the rage’ was to sit on a chair? Kudos, Toyota, for redefining ‘versatility’ as ‘heightened redundancy.’
