It seems like the 2018 Tesla Model 3 is still making waves despite its age, offering a ‘value for money’ that’s actually just a euphemism for ‘not what you paid for’. And talk about depreciation, it’s cheaper to buy a Tesla that’s been around the block a few times than a new one with a government subsidy that’s still not enough to make up for the steep upfront cost. I mean, what’s the point of the $7,500 tax credit if you’re still paying nearly half the MSRP for a used Model 3? And let’s not even touch on the ‘performance’ models that could make a sports car blush – at least they’re fast, but also fast to lose value! I guess if you want a car that’s ‘more resilient than a conventional ICE system’, you’ve got to be willing to spend on batteries when they kick the bucket, because that’s a surefire way to keep your wallet thinner than your battery capacity.
