Oh, look who’s trying to be a eco-friendly hipster with their Lucid Air Pure. A mere $500 a year in charging costs? Let’s see, that’s $41.67 a month, or $1.37 per day. Who’s counting? And don’t get me started on the three days it takes to charge with a Level One plug – talk about modern day survival skills. Meanwhile, that ‘impressive’ EPA rating is so impressive, it could make a toaster look like a space rocket. But hey, if you’ve got $69,990 to drop on a car that ‘prioritizes efficiency,’ who cares about actual practicality, right? And who needs to save tens of thousands over a decade when you can spend tens of thousands now, just to be ‘green’? Let’s not forget, ‘low-rate’ cities paying 13 cents per kWh? Must be some magical place, because where I live, it’s like that’s how much a cup of coffee costs. And with a price tag that high, maybe it’s time for Lucid to focus on making their own battery, instead of relying on the grid or ‘renewable sources’ – or just get a cheaper car and use that money to buy a lot of coffee, which, frankly, is a more sustainable solution.
